I Was That Kid is a heartfelt and thought-provoking resource that invites parents, educators, caregivers, mentors, youth leaders, and communities to reflect on the lasting impact they have on a child's life. Every child carries a story, and the words they hear, the support they receive, and the experiences they endure help shape who they become. This book encourages adults to pause, reflect, and consider the role they play in helping children grow with confidence, resilience, and hope.

Through meaningful insights, personal reflection, and practical guidance, I Was That Kid explores the power of encouragement, belonging, grace, accountability, and positive influence. Rather than focusing on blame, it challenges readers to become intentional in creating environments where children feel seen, heard, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Each chapter concludes with guided reflection questions and writing prompts that encourage readers to examine their own experiences, evaluate their interactions with children, and identify practical ways to strengthen the relationships that matter most. Whether used individually, in professional development, book studies, parent groups, teacher discussions, or mentoring programs, the book provides opportunities for honest conversation and lasting personal growth.

Ideal for schools, churches, community organizations, and families, I Was That Kid serves as both a reflective guide and a conversation starter. It reminds readers that every interaction has the potential to influence a child's future and that small moments of compassion, consistency, and encouragement can leave lifelong impressions.

Whether you are raising a child, teaching a classroom, mentoring a student, coaching a team, leading a youth ministry, or simply seeking to make a positive difference, I Was That Kid offers practical wisdom and reflective exercises that inspire intentional action. Because every child deserves adults who recognize their worth, believe in their potential, and choose to invest in the person they are becoming.
