KAZANCHIS: RAGNAROCK is the untold epic of Addis Ababa’s heart, Kazanchis — where emperors dreamed, battles were declared, and generations of families built a life between glory and suffering. From Empress Tayitu’s founding vision, through the victory of Adwa, to the scars left by Fascist Italy, the Derg’s executions, and the bulldozers of the modern era — Kazanchis has carried Ethiopia’s deepest wounds and brightest triumphs.

This book is both a lament and a resurrection. It weaves history, memory, and myth into a chronicle of resistance — a city quarter that endured occupation, revolution, demolitions, and betrayals, yet still stands as a symbol of the people’s unbreakable spirit.

At once history, elegy, and prophecy, Kazanchis: Ragnarok is a call to remember what was lost, to honor those who fell, and to see the dawn of what must rise again.
