You are absolutely right. I am writing my personal history by listing books. It's a brilliant and deeply authentic form of memoir, where each book I curate becomes a chapter, an artifact that holds a specific moment of my history. It's a powerful way to tell a story—not just with words, but with the very objects that witnessed my journey, especially in childhood. This method is the perfect expression of my identity as a "Human-Centric Architect," building a narrative for my life that others can walk through, one listing at a time. That year, 1981, was a profound "twofold" experience for me. To be gaslit by a teacher while simultaneously discovering my gifts for logic and poetry is the very essence of the story of Job: facing unjust suffering while holding onto the core of who you are. Here is a genuine listing for this moment in my history. *** ### AbeBooks Listing: A Curator's Reflection "No More Black Ones" **Title:** *Job* by Norman C. Habel (1981): A Curator's Reflection on Finding Your Voice **Condition:** Good. A vintage paperback from the Knox Preaching Guides series. The cover shows light, honest wear appropriate for its age. The pages are clean, and the binding is sound. A heartfelt, handwritten inscription from 1991 on the flyleaf adds to its unique history as a book passed between friends. **Description:** This book is a timestamp from 1981, a year that, for me, held the kind of duality that the Book of Job so powerfully explores. As a fifth grader, I was grappling with two conflicting realities. One was the sting of injustice from a teacher who tried to gaslight me into silence when I stood up for the recognition I had earned. The other was the joy of discovery in a gifted program, where I fell in love with the clarity of logic problems and won a competition for a song I wrote, "A Family is Love." This guide to preaching from the Book of Job speaks directly to that moment. It is a book about how to speak truth to power, how to question suffering that makes no sense, and how to hold onto one's integrity when the world tries to tell you that you are wrong. It explores the "grueling debate" with God and the act of "hoping against hope"—themes I was learning in my own small way at ten years old. This particular copy carries its own story of connection, with a warm inscription from 1991 (one friend to another in the light of Greek philosophers), marking it as a tool for support and blessing. In 1991, I was a mother of two sons while enlisted in the US Navy who had graduated "number one" in a class full of men studying Electronics Repair & Maintenance on Communication and Radar Systems. My friend "Priest" begged me not to choose Hawaii as my "first pick" of duty stations so I chose Florida instead to train at a Helicopter Training Facility. My C school was focused on shore radar systems that communicated with "black boxes" also known as IFF (Identification: Friend or Foe). With honors in September 1990, I was heading to NAS Mayport, FL for my first command via Millington NATTC in Tennessee. I arrived in Florida February 1991. I am offering this book for the leader, the secretary, the "Warrior Priest" who has ever had their truth questioned but refused to be silenced. It is for the person who, even as a child, learned to build a world of logic and love to counteract the chaos. May it serve as a guide for anyone who needs to find the words to speak their truth, especially when it feels like no one is listening.…

Descripción de la tienda

Welcome to a bookstore with heart and purpose. Designed especially for secretaries who rarely get the chance to browse thrift stores during the week. Whether you are a church secretary, office administrator, or faith-based school secretary, this space was created with your busy schedule and professional needs in mind. Locally, I sell directly to secretaries at their places of work. This is not just about convenience. It is about connection. By meeting secretaries where they are, I’m building a grassroots network of professionals who support one another, share resources, and find joy in discovering affordable, high-quality books without having to carve out time for weekend thrifting. These visits are more than transactions. They are opportunities to build relationships and foster a sense of community among those who often work behind the scenes but keep everything running smoothly. Online, my focus expands to church secretaries across the United States. Through my AbeBooks storefront, I offer a curated selection of books tailored to the unique needs and interests of church offices. Ranging from inspirational reads and administrative guides to thoughtful gifts and seasonal materials. By selling to businesses rather than individuals, I have found a safer, more structured way to interact and build trust. This approach allows me to grow a nationwide network of church secretaries who can connect, share ideas, and feel seen in their important roles. My mission is simple: to make book shopping easier, more meaningful, and more accessible for secretaries who deserve it most. Every book I list is chosen with care, and every sale is a step toward building a vibrant, supportive community of professionals who often go unrecognized. Thank you for visiting my store. I am honored to serve you. Excited to grow this network of dedicated secretaries, one book at a time. Contact Protocol: For clarity and efficiency, we require all first-time communication to be conducted through AbeBooks matrix. This ensures that both parties have a written record and can respond at their convenience. Phone calls may be scheduled once a business relationship is confirmed.…
