"This collection of Bill Loaders essays is a wondrous gift for both the academy and the church. The relationship between scholarship and faith weaves as a thread throughout. I highly commend this book and can imagine myself returning to it often." -- Robyn Whitaker, Senior Lecturer in New Testament, Pilgrim Theological College, University of Divinity. "These essays, which trace William Loaders career-long commitment to academic biblical scholarship not only within the University but also in meeting the needs of the church, address key critical and theological questions in a way that will make them accessible and relevant to students, to teachers, and to preachers. Their collection is to be warmly welcomed." -- Professor Judith Lieu, FBA, Lady Margarets Professor of Divinity Emerita, Cambridge University. "These clearly written and carefully researched essays will provide stimulating and challenging reading to all who are interested in understanding the New Testament at greater depth." -- Paul Trebilco, Professor of New Testament Studies, Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand. "Bill Loader has been one of the leading New Testament scholars not just in Australia, but globally, for half a century. What is immediately apparent is that the clarity of communication and the exceptional precision in analysing the details of ancient texts, which are the hallmarks of his scholarship, were present even in the earliest essays. Without exception every essay in this volume is a contribution of exceptional insight for all who seek to learn from an exemplary scholar." -- Paul Foster, Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity, School of Divinity, University of Edinburgh. "Loader provides an even-handed, perceptive, and witty discussion of some controversial issues of interpretation. Readers will find themselves being entertained as well as informed and educated. It is a rich selection of importance to students, scholars, and laity alike." -- Adela Yarbro Collins, Buckingham Professor Emerita of New Testament Criticism and Interpretation, Yale University Divinity School.
