Internal Combustion Engines. Este artículo no está disponible.Internal Combustion Engines

"Internal Combustion Engines" provides a comprehensive technical exploration of the principles, design, and operation of combustion engines as understood during the early 20th century. Written by Robert L. Streeter, this work serves as an essential textbook and reference for engineering students and professionals interested in the mechanical foundations of power generation.

The book covers a wide range of topics, including the thermodynamics of engine cycles, the properties of liquid and gaseous fuels, and the structural design of engine components such as cylinders, pistons, and crankshafts. Detailed chapters examine different types of engines, including gas, gasoline, and oil engines, while addressing critical aspects of performance such as cooling, lubrication, and governing.

Through technical diagrams and empirical data, "Internal Combustion Engines" bridges the gap between theoretical physics and practical application. It remains a valuable historical document for those studying the evolution of automotive and industrial technology, illustrating the rigorous engineering standards that fueled the transition from steam to internal combustion as the dominant source of mechanical power.
