This collection features four peer-reviewed reviews on phosphorus uptake and use in crops.The first chapter summarises the progress in research on root traits associated with phosphorus acquisition, including root morphology, architecture, biochemistry, colonisation by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, and fine root endophytes.
