Seminar paper from the year 2008 in the subject Geography / Earth Science - Miscellaneous, grade: 1,3, Free University of Berlin (Geographie), language: English, abstract: On the topic of European landscape development during the Holocene, this report focus on landscape diversification of (pre-) historic man on earth. According to RUDDIMAN (2003), the anthropogenic greenhouse era began at least 5000 years ago (RUDDIMAN, 2003, p. 265). He points out, that the implementation of agricultural practices required a clearance of woodland, which contributed to changing carbon and methane fluxes. The following report attempts to answer the question, how human behavior had influenced landscape. Therefore the history of anthropogenic impact on landscape will be described.
