COMPLETE TWO VOLUME SET. "A New Edition" (as stated upon title page - second edition overall preceded by an 1828 edition). Hardcovers, H 18.5cm x L 11.25cm, uniformly bound in half leather - green leather spines with four slightly raised bands and gilt tooling; green marbled paper boards with green leather corners. Boards rubbed with slender wear along edges particularly at bumped corners; scuffing to spines; maroon title and author/volume labels albeit with Volume I's title label being chipped with lettering loss. All edges marbled. Dark gray endpapers. Most recent owner's personal bookplate on each volume's front free endpaper; earlier owner's shelf and category labels on volumes' ffeps as well accompanied by ink inscriptions (dated April 1918) and stamps on respective front flyleaves; some pencil initial and writing on front pastedown's and ffep rectos. Interior pages are clean. Bindings are firm. No bindery ticket/mark present.
