Descripción del artículo del vendedor
8°, circa 17,3 x 11 cm. 92 pp., 2 ff. Contemporary grey boards Gay-L, II, 552f.; cf. Pia, Les Livres de l'Enfer, 642. Second edition of this erotic roman à clef, first published in 1728. The work makes fun of the regent Philippe II, Duke of Orléans who served from 1715 to 1723 until Louis XV attained his majority. At the end there is a key to what the names of the characters stand for: Apprius is Priapus, Lucanus is cul-anus, Litocris is clitoris, the Tribleins are libertins etc. - The author Godard de Beauchamp (1689-1761) published several erotic novels most of which were immediately censored and banned from circulation. - Title with an old inscription, at the beginning small wormholes in the white margin (no loss of text), binding dusty and rubbed, inside clean.
