David Winter's career has included teaching, journalism, 20 years as a BBC producer before ending up as the head of religious broadcasting, 20 years as a Church of England minister, authoring more than 40 books, and regularly contributing to "Thought For the Day" on Radio 4 for more than 20 years.
He has "retired" three times.
