Book Description & Story: A charming and gently humorous woodland tale perfect for ages 3–7. Young Henrietta the mouse loses her mother in spring and faces her first autumn and winter alone. Other animals advise her to store food, but her efforts are repeatedly foiled — first by creepy-crawly visitors, then by a flood, and later by well-meaning friends at a celebratory tea party. Through perseverance (and a little help), she learns valuable lessons about resilience, community, and the changing seasons. Beautifully illustrated in Rob Lewis's distinctive, textured, warm style with rich autumnal colours, expressive animal characters, and atmospheric scenes of forest, rain, snow, and spring renewal. A heartwarming story of growth and friendship that has delighted generations of young readers.
