Print on Demand. This book is a concise manual of preparation and prayer for those seeking to receive The Holy Communion. It opens with an introduction to the central role of the sacrament within the Christian tradition. The author then explores the meaning and significance of the Holy Communion, presenting it as an act of worship and a means for the recipient to unite spiritually with the body and blood of Christ. The author stresses that the Holy Communion is not merely a symbolic act but a genuine union with the person of Christ through faith and devotion. One chapter contains a series of questions for self-examination and a guide for confession to assist the reader in their preparation for receiving the sacrament. The author includes a collection of prayers and meditations to be read in the week before Communion, as well as a series of short prayers for use during the Communion service itself. This book will be of interest to anyone wishing to learn more about the Holy Communion and deepen their experience of this sacrament. Its accessible language and practical guidance make it an ideal resource for individual devotion or use within study groups. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

The Holy Communion is both the highest act of worship possible to the Christian, and also the richest means open to him for the reception of supernatural grace. By it we do Mow Ike Lord's deal/12 till He came pleading with the Father the merits of the One Sacrifice offered up on the cross, thus taking part in Christ's great act of interces sion, and holding up before men the atone ment which was made for us upon Calvary as our one and only propitiation. Hence the Holy Communion is called by the Church our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving; not an offering for sin, but a thank-offering for a perfected redemption. But there is an other view of the blessed Sacrament. To the believing soul it is the means of a true and living union with the glorified Redeemer.
