Paperback. "Hegel's Science of Logic" represents the pinnacle of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel's philosophical system, providing a rigorous and systematic exposition of the logical structures that underpin reality, thought, and being. This second volume continues the profound investigation into the nature of thought, moving beyond immediate existence to explore the "Doctrine of Essence" and the "Doctrine of the Notion." Within these pages, Hegel develops his famous dialectical method, tracing the movement of concepts through contradiction and resolution toward absolute knowledge. As a cornerstone of German Idealism, this work challenges the traditional boundaries of formal logic by demonstrating how thought and being are fundamentally intertwined. Hegel examines categories such as identity, difference, causality, and subjectivity, arguing that logic is not merely a tool for reasoning but the very substance of the world. This translation by W. H. Johnston and L. G. Struthers offers English-speaking readers access to one of the most complex and influential texts in the history of Western philosophy. It remains an essential study for those interested in metaphysics, the philosophy of mind, and the historical development of continental thought. Through its dense but rewarding analysis, "Hegel's Science of Logic" seeks to capture the life of the concept in its entirety. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
