Now with a beautiful new illustrated cover by series artist Rozy Clemente!
Will the fire in her heart be enough to stand against the rising tide?
I am not a savior.
My name is Uryana. I am thirteen cycles old, a child of the Baraw tribe from the Sa-Babaw peaks. One cycle ago, I faced the Serpent of Fire and survived. I thought the flames of terror had fallen with it. I thought peace had returned.
But the Tutod has died. The fire that never fades, the heart of our people—gone. The Elders say it is a warning. They have sent me beyond the mountains to find Datu Garab, the only warrior who may have the answers.
Now, the tide is rising, just as the world is shifting...and I am not alone.
I am not their king.
My name is Lihum. I am thirteen cycles old, the son of Datu Garab, and the chief of Laksay. I lead my people not by choice, but because of duty.
Now, the sea does not rest. The waves pull away, only to return stronger. The Korakoa pirates raid our shores, and something deep beneath the water is stirring. I left my home to find answers—and all these lead to her, the girl in my vision.
And together, we must uncover the truth...before the storm swallows us whole.
'Heart of Courage' is Book 2 of 10 of the middle-grade high fantasy series set in ancient Philippines, Fire and Tide. Recommended for readers 9 years old and above.
