Paperback. What if the greatest threat to your health isn't disease.but the way you've been taught to think about it?From childhood, we're taught what health is.Who to trust. What causes disease. What keeps us well.Over time, those ideas become so familiar that we stop questioning them. But what if some of our deepest assumptions deserve a second look? Most of us live inside an invisible box.Not a physical one.A mental one.Built from years of assumptions, repetition, authority and inherited beliefs about what it means to be healthy. Most of us never realise the box exists.Until something forces us to question it.Health is Your Priority is not another book about diets, supplements or miracle cures. It is an exploration of the ideas that shape the way we think about health-and how those ideas influence the way we live, the choices we make, and the future of our wellbeing.Through the story of John-a hardworking husband, father and businessman whose declining health forced him to question everything he believed-this book explores why so many people are living longer while becoming increasingly unwell, and why the answers may lie beyond the assumptions we've come to accept as normal.Drawing on research, history, evolutionary biology and traditional health systems, it asks challenging questions about the relationship between modern life and human wellbeing. It doesn't ask you to reject conventional thinking. It asks you to examine it.Whether you agree with every conclusion or challenge every page, one thing is almost certain: You will never think about health in quite the same way again.Because the goal isn't agreement. The goal is thought. What if the greatest threat to your health isn't disease...
...but the way you've been taught to think about it?
From childhood, we're taught what health is.
Who to trust.
What causes disease.
What keeps us well.
Over time, those ideas become so familiar that we stop questioning them.
But what if some of our deepest assumptions deserve a second look?
Most of us live inside an invisible box.
Not a physical one.
A mental one.
Built from years of assumptions, repetition, authority and inherited beliefs about what it means to be healthy.
Most of us never realise the box exists.
Until something forces us to question it.
Health is Your Priority is not another book about diets, supplements or miracle cures.
It is an exploration of the ideas that shape the way we think about health—and how those ideas influence the way we live, the choices we make, and the future of our wellbeing.
Through the story of John—a hardworking husband, father and businessman whose declining health forced him to question everything he believed—this book explores why so many people are living longer while becoming increasingly unwell, and why the answers may lie beyond the assumptions we've come to accept as normal.
Drawing on research, history, evolutionary biology and traditional health systems, it asks challenging questions about the relationship between modern life and human wellbeing. It doesn't ask you to reject conventional thinking.
It asks you to examine it.
Whether you agree with every conclusion or challenge every page, one thing is almost certain:
You will never think about health in quite the same way again.
Because the goal isn't agreement.
The goal is thought.
