xii, 418 pp. plus foldout map showing localities of London libraries, plus 18 pp. of publisher's advertisements at the rear. Original maroon blind-stamped ribbed cloth, gilt title on spine. This handbook also includes descriptions of the catalogues used and extensive classed lists of the British LIbrary's manuscript collections. The copy of clergyman Henry Robert Lloyd (1809-1880) of St. Mark's, Kennington and rector of Cliffe, with his signature on front pastedown. Note: due to printer error, page ix is printed twice, the second time in place of page xi, which is therefore lacking. Some soiling on the covers, head and tail of spine and corners a little rubbed, but overall, a reasonably well-preserved copy.
