Quarto bifolium, 3 pp. Verso of second leaf blank. On greyish-blue paper. Good, though lightly creased and with a little spottting. Begins 'MR. D'ISRAELI [sic] presented a Petition from Finnemoor, a place forming part of Oxfordshire, but being wholly within the County of Buckingham. The Petiton complained of oppression on the part of the Bishop of Oxford. The Petitioners stated that the place in which they resided was eight miles from their Parish Church, - that they had an ancient Chapel which the Bishop of Oxford was about to pull down, - that they were children of the church, - and they therefore trusted that the House would protect them from the intended injury.' The petition is reproduced, with the names of the signatories, who 'comprise every Land Owner, House Owner, Farmer, and Occupiers of every Cottage in the District in which this ancient Chapel is situated, with the single exception of one Cottage Tennant, of Col. Sir Wm. Robt. Clayton, Bart. (a widow,) who declared her wish that the Chapel should continue to be used for Divine worship, but was afraid to sign the Petiton, lest she should by so doing offend the Rector and Curate of Hambleden.'.
