Harvard recently stated that rigorous research can elevate
an application for admission. The University of Pennsylvania boasted about the number of applicants that had substantial research listed in their applications. Yale, Columbia, and Brown encourage research in their applications. Many other schools claim they consider research a plus for applicants.
It seems like overnight this has added yet one more standard by which to judge a college application. It also raises many questions: What type of research? Why? How do I find a research position? What can I learn or
accomplish if I do research?
If you are looking to supercharge your college application, pursue your passion, or discover whether doing research is for you, this book can help. Whether you’re considering a remote, short-term program or several years in a local lab, this book will help you find, maintain, and benefit from your hard work.
