Is there a great writer in you? Author David Scott Fields II presents the very first short story he ever wrote, Green Elephant. At the young age of eight, Mr. Fields fell in love with the written word, and this "kooky" story about a baby elephant that is magically turned green was the first to emerge from his pen - and many more stories would soon follow. Today, as a teacher and author, Mr. Fields is thrilled with the chance he has to inspire up and coming young authors, and now he wants to spread that inspiration from his classroom to yours. The Green Elephant - A Children's Writing Activity Book contains a story originally written by a child to inspire other children to become the next generation of authors. To that end, the back half of the book contains space for students to write their own stories, with a few helpful hints along the way. A world of imagination and adventure awaits as each child explores the question, "Is there a great writer in you?"
