Contents clean. l Publishers drab paper backed boards lightly soiled, corners bumped, light brown paper backed spine retaining the original printed paper label. Overall, a very good copy of the rarely seen first edition. Alexander Jamieson ( 1782- 1850) was born at Rothsay, Scotland. Little is known of his early years. Seemingly he seems to have spent most of his working life in London, as a writer, a teacher and lastly an actuary.
