Goldsmith's Plays: The Good-Natured Man, She Stoops To Conquer is a collection of two plays written by Oliver Goldsmith and published in 1888. The first play, The Good-Natured Man, is a comedy that follows the misadventures of a kind-hearted but naive young man named Honeywood as he tries to navigate the complexities of 18th century society. Along the way, he encounters a colorful cast of characters, including a scheming landlady, a lovestruck heiress, and a group of debt-ridden friends who are always looking for a way to get out of trouble.The second play, She Stoops To Conquer, is also a comedy and tells the story of a wealthy young woman named Kate Hardcastle who pretends to be a barmaid in order to win the heart of a shy and socially awkward young man named Marlow.
