She solves everyone else's emergencies. Her own is just beginning.
Evelyn Hart is London's most sought-after crisis negotiator-beautiful, composed, and sharp-tongued enough to talk billionaires off ledges and politicians out of scandals. But when her younger brother vanishes into a world of gambling debts and whispered names, she discovers that not every crisis can be solved with logic and a well-timed phone call.
The debt belongs to Vale Holdings. And Vale Holdings belongs to Damian Vale.
Wealthy. Dangerous. Impossible to read. Damian is the private fixer London's elite call when they need scandals erased, debts collected, and problems to simply... disappear. He doesn't save people. He trades in consequences. And his price for helping Evelyn is simple: one week in his world. His rules. No questions. No police. No illusions that this is anything other than a transaction.
But Evelyn Hart has never been good at following rules she didn't write.
As their search pulls her through London's hidden power circles-underground auctions where debts are sold like art, private clubs where silence is purchased by the hour, and glass-walled penthouses where power is traded over whiskey-Evelyn discovers that her brother's disappearance is bait. Someone from Damian's past is using Charlie to force him into a catastrophic deal that would chain him to the underworld forever.
Lord Pemberton. The man who taught Damian that mercy is a myth. The same man who funded Evelyn's father's first company... then watched him drown without throwing a rope.
A forced weekend at Damian's Cotswolds estate shatters their careful distance. She finds him tending his late sister's garden with obsessive care. He finds her crying over a childhood photograph and simply sits beside her, close enough to share warmth, far enough to let her pretend he's not there. They almost kiss. She retreats. He lets her.
Because Damian Vale is many things-but he is not a man who takes what isn't freely given.
As the truth unravels, Evelyn must confront the brother who orchestrated his own capture, trading her panic for his debts. Damian must choose between the empire he built and the woman he's learning to need. And together, they must decide if love is just another leverage point... or the only thing worth burning everything for.
A love story built on dangerous bargains, buried grief, and the terrifying hope that even damaged people can choose tenderness.
Glass Mercy is a morally grey hero romance with forced proximity, a protective antihero with hidden softness, and the slow-burn tension of two people who have spent their lives surviving through control-and must learn that trust is the most dangerous bargain of all.
