nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - 'I will kill you if you ever try to leave me again,' he said quietly. No shouting. No drama. Just a promise-as if it were already decided. As if he owned the ending. That was the moment she knew she HAD TO ESCAPE.She was the girl behind the chair-the one who hid from the chaos behind a faded plaid seat that smelled of old smoke and fear. From a childhood scarred by loss to a marriage marked by control and violence, her life became a battle to endure, to protect, to breathe.Yet even in the darkness, God was there-pursuing, calling, and redeeming. The Girl Behind the Chair is a powerful true story of survival and grace, of a woman who stepped out of the shadows and into the light of the One who never let her go.The Girl Behind the Chair is a raw and riveting memoir that traces one woman's journey from a childhood marked by poverty, abuse, and trauma in the segregated South, to a life of broken marriages, survival, and destructive choices-and ultimately to healing, hope, and redemption through faith.Cindy Hunt takes readers behind the curtain of her Lumbee Indian heritage and her early life as the youngest of seven children. She reveals the scars of generational pain, the struggles of escaping an abusive home, and the price she paid in adulthood-through toxic relationships, domestic violence, and the devastating consequences of running from her true calling. But the turning point came when God reached past her striving and her attempts to 'do' for Him and began to heal the deepest place-her heart. For it was in the hidden chambers of the heart, not in outward accomplishments, where true freedom was found. From a fragile little girl hiding behind a chair to a woman standing in the ashes of broken dreams, Cindy's story unfolds with gripping honesty, heartache, and ultimately, breathtaking beauty. Her journey across the U.S. and into the nations of the world-serving in India, Kenya, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine-shows the power of forgiveness, surrender, and God's ability to bring purpose out of pain. This memoir is not just a personal story; it is an invitation. An invitation to allow God to expose and heal the hidden wounds of the heart, to discover that freedom is possible, and to see that even the most broken lives can be redeemed and restored.'True freedom doesn't come from what we do for God, but from letting Him heal the hidden wounds of the heart.'.…

That was the moment she knew she HAD TO ESCAPE.
She was the girl behind the chair—the one who hid from the chaos behind a faded plaid seat that smelled of old smoke and fear. From a childhood scarred by loss to a marriage marked by control and violence, her life became a battle to endure, to protect, to breathe.
Yet even in the darkness, God was there—pursuing, calling, and redeeming.
The Girl Behind the Chair is a powerful true story of survival and grace, of a woman who stepped out of the shadows and into the light of the One who never let her go.
