What if it wasn’t Dorothy’s story…

Unnatural disasters are plaguing the country. Monsters have been spotted roaming the forests, great patches of land have disappeared without a trace, and the worst windstorm the country has ever seen has demolished an entire town in the eastern quadrant. And when a priceless magical artifact is stolen in the wake of that storm, Captain Tyl Guela is tasked with tracking down the thief and bringing them to justice.

But when a beloved friend turns up dead and the thief turns out to be the last person he expects, Captain Tyl realizes he is facing more than a routine hunt-and-capture. With his own enemies closing in and his past haunting him every step of the way, Tyl’s decisions will ultimately change the course of his life… and the life of a little girl from a place called “Kansas” who only wants to go home.
