Gerry Price grew Price Industries into a prairie powerhouse, expanding successfully from Canada into the United States and establishing a presence with operations around the world. Taking the company with its sales of $30 million to over $1 billion was not easy, but driven by innovation and a desire to serve others, Gerry Price survived remarkable setbacks to find a way.

I’m Just Gerry tells the story and chronicles the timeline of Price Industries’ ascension from the hinterland to the promised land, as it strives to become a forever company, guided by the 13 Tenets that make up the Price Way.

Advance praise for the book:

“Gerry is a brilliant leader and one of the most humble and generous human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. His recipes for business and life are laid out clearly in I’m Just Gerry.” Mark J. Chipman, Executive Chairman and Governor, Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club

“I’m Just Gerry tells an amazing story of doing business the right way … the Price Way. Gerry’s story is a gift to any leader who wants to find and follow a principled path to success while leaving a positive legacy. For those that want to build a lasting enterprise and are prepared to think long term and seriously out-serve and outlast the competition, the recipe and lessons are clear and there to follow in I’m Just Gerry.” Dayna Spiring, President and CEO, Economic Development Winnipeg

“I’m Just Gerry is as honest, sincere, and transparent a book as they come. Just like Gerry is. Price is an amazing business with an incredible history having evolved over the years with purpose and vision, commitment to employees and customers, and plain old-fashioned hard work. There is a lot to be learned here from a very special leader and his company.” Paul Soubry, President and CEO, NFI Group Inc. (New Flyer Industries)

“People who make a real difference in our world can take many forms—those who quietly contribute, those who roll up their sleeves and help, and those who take the lead to forge the path forward. Gerry is one of those exceptional individuals who has made a difference in our world in all three ways. He and his family selflessly give back, he leans in when called on to help, and in business and community he leads with vision, passion, and conviction.” Paul Mahon, President and CEO, Canada Life and Great-West Lifeco

“I think it’s fair to say that Gerry has helped shape Winnipeg as much as Winnipeg shaped who he is as a business leader: resilient, resolute, and willing to take a risk in order to move forward. Gerry and I have known each other for 40 years, going back to the mid-1980s when our family held an ownership interest in E.H. Price. What impressed me about Gerry from the start was his determination to lead his family’s manufacturing company into the future and his unwavering stance on keeping its headquarters here in Winnipeg while growing its presence internationally. That commitment is not only a testament to Gerry’s passion for Winnipeg; it is a reflection of the hardy, homegrown values the city instilled in him.” Hartley Richardson, Executive Chair, President, and CEO, James Richardson & Sons, Limited
