Gerald the Guard Donkey is a heartwarming tale of friendship, bravery and loyalty.

Gerald is not your regular donkey-he’s the protector of a herd of cows, his beloved friends. When coyotes lurk and buzzards fly overhead, Gerald must prove he is big in heart and courage despite his size. He will do everything in his power to watch over his friends and keep them safe.

Children of all ages will fall in love with Gerald, through charming illustrations and fun rhymes. They’ll learn the value of diversity and that everyone-no matter how different-has unique skills and abilities that can help their friends, if they have the courage to be themselves.

Born and raised in Krebs, Oklahoma, Anna Brown is raising her two children alongside her husband on their ranch in southern Oklahoma. She enjoys taking photos of her family's cows and watching their real-life guard donkey, Gerald, in his role as a companion and protector of their herd.
