Paperback. "Geologic Structures" is an authoritative and comprehensive examination of the physical forces and processes that shape the Earth's crust. Written by prominent geologists Bailey Willis and Robin Willis, this work serves as a foundational text for understanding the mechanics of rock deformation and the resulting architectural features of the terrestrial landscape. The book delves into the complex dynamics of folding, faulting, and the development of joints, providing clear definitions and systematic classifications for various geologic formations. The authors combine theoretical insights with practical field observations to explain how internal stresses and external pressures give rise to majestic mountain ranges and intricate subterranean basins. By analyzing the geometry and mechanics of structural patterns, the work offers a rigorous framework for interpreting the history and evolution of the planet's surface. "Geologic Structures" is an essential resource for students and professionals in the earth sciences, emphasizing the vital connection between geologic principles and their application in mining, engineering, and resource exploration. This study remains a significant contribution to the field, illustrating the meticulous methodology required to unlock the secrets of the Earth's dynamic structural history. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
