Paperback. "General Introduction to Ethics" by William Kelley Wright serves as a comprehensive and systematic overview of the fundamental principles of moral philosophy. Designed to guide readers through the complex landscape of ethical inquiry, the work examines the historical development of moral thought while addressing the core dilemmas that define human conduct. Wright meticulously explores various ethical theories, ranging from the classical foundations laid by ancient philosophers to the modern frameworks of utilitarianism and Kantianism. The text is structured to provide a clear understanding of both normative ethics and the psychological underpinnings of moral behavior. By analyzing concepts such as virtue, duty, and the nature of the good, Wright offers a balanced perspective on how individuals and societies determine right from wrong. This work remains a significant contribution to the field of philosophy, valued for its clarity of expression and its ability to synthesize diverse philosophical traditions into a cohesive narrative. Ideal for students and scholars alike, "General Introduction to Ethics" provides the essential tools for a deeper engagement with the perennial questions of morality and the quest for a virtuous life. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
