"For those fans who discovered Florida football in 1990, it's all about success and championships. For those in the Gator Nation with longer memories, however, the titles have healed some very deep wounds. For so may years, Florida was the school whose botto was "Wait 'Til Next Year!" But that didn't diminish the accomplishments of the earlier heroes, plyaers such as Carlos Alvarez, Neal Anderson, and Wilber Marshall. Their stories are among those chronicled here in Game of My Life Florida with each chapter taking readers back to a different era of Gator football. The heroes are here - Jack Youngblood, Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel, Kerwin Bell, Scot Brantley, and Nat Moore among them - telling stories about how they became Gators and the games that will always be imprinted on their brains. Go back to the famous 1969 Houston game with John Reaves, the Southern Cal victory lap with Marshall, the first national title win with Spurrier and Wuerffel. You are there for the first start - and first win at Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium - of Don Gaffney's career as well as the first starts for quarterbacks Shane Matthews and Wayne Peace. Cris Collinsworth talks about meeting Arnold Palmer, and Lindy Infante relives the corner of the end zone against Georgia Tech. Receivers Chris Doering and James Jones both talk about their versions of "the catch" more than a decade apart. Game of My Life Florida gives the Gator Nation a loving trip down memory land and includes the latest one to remember, Chris Leak's recount of the BCS national championship game." - from the inner front jacket flap. …

Descripción de la tienda
Vero Beach Books is an antiquarian bookseller with a constantly updated inventory of rare out-of-print books, signed books, children's books, plus a large inventory of ephemeral items such as major U.S. city newspapers going back 100 years and more, golden and silver age fine condition comic books (soon to be added), and many other ephemeral items as well as much more recent popular volumes. We have been in business for 25 years, originally known as Emerson Books (named after one of our owner's favorite authors, to wit, Ralph Waldo Emerson) located back then in Westport, Connecticut. That said, we are here to serve you, to offer you fine quality items that are conservatively described so that you will always be pleasantly surprised and delighted with your purchase. Twenty-five years in the bookselling business has borne out our stellar service oriented reputation; the only difference is that now we are located in the almost always sunny and warm climate of Vero Beach, Florida. Again, we are here to serve you and, as was the case when we were previously known on ABEBooks.com as Emerson Books, we will continue to offer our very popular 100% free search service for those hard to find books rare and out of print books. Oftentimes we are also able to obtain these rare finds at very good discounts to our customers' so it is always worth contacting us in such cases!
