Dust jacket rubbed with some toning and soiling, nicks and short tears at edges, slender rippled tear near spine head, bottom corner of front flap is price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Blue cloth, slight color fading to spine, gilt stamping to spine and front board remains bright. Four-line Christmas gift ink inscription on front free endpaper. Strong foxing to fore-edge with light foxing to top edge and bottom edge; some foxing and toning to front and rear endpapers; light foxing to a few adjoining initial and terminal leaves; strong foxing at bottoms of pages 2-3 but interior pages otherwise having minor occasional foxing at margins and otherwise still clean. Binding is firm. A very good- copy in a good+ dust jacket. With Foreword by His Grace The Duke of Beaufort, Preface by W.C. Steinkraus, Acknowledgements, Introduction, section of b/w plates on unpaged leaves, and Index. Text comprised of multiple chapters divided among five parts titled as: "Fundamental Objects of Riding;" "Methods of Communication with the Horse;" "Schooling the Rider and Horse in Jumping;" "The Three-Day Event;" and "Show Jumping."
