Paperback. Inspired by the music of Hozier, S.J. Pehrson's debut novel drops you right into the action and refuses to let go.'I hold no grudge, Clancy Parrows. That word is too small. What I hold is a promise. A promise stained with the blood of every Mariner, their names carved into the very stone I am left with where once I had a heart.'The war never ended for Alvi Daine. Haunted by the voices of his traumatic past, he is left alone to share his space with only ghosts. Now, following the death of his brother, he is the last living remnant of a once-thriving society wiped out by the greed of an ever-expanding imperialist enterprise. But one's past isn't something you run from; it's something you kill. That much is clear to Alvi, as his ghosts are constantly reminding him. Nevertheless, the line between justice and vengeance is blurred by the scars of war as Alvi is presented with the opportunity to avenge his people. Now he must navigate the turmoil of his deepening insanity as the price of his choice threatens to throw the entire continent back into war. Countless Westling lives hang in the balance, but it won't stop Alvi from hunting down and killing the Mariner, Aubree Cochren, for what he did to clan Dun-dari. This item is printed on demand.
