Paperback. That's Really Funny! Volume 1, A Storyteller's Collection of His All-Time Favorite Jokes written by Joe McHugh is a delightful compilation of 75 skillfully crafted story jokes spread across 154 pages with 27 artful illustrations that draws upon a rich tradition of narrative comedy to make people laugh and drive the blues away. Avoiding simple one-liners, put-downs, puns, and "shaggy dogs"-far too many fleas, McHugh's story jokes are just that, miniature tales that weave together memorable characters, vivid settings, and engaging plots. Readers will meet an eccentric whisky expert, a frustrated preacher, a misbehaving parrot, an extremely lazy man, a music agent and a frog hoping to be kissed, a woman who asks an Irish pharmacist for arsenic, a pheasant-hunting grandpa, a boy on a burro and the legendary Pancho Villa, a game warden and an extra-clever poacher, a deaf golfer, a lawyer chased through the streets of San Francisco by an army of rats, a London pickpocket who finds his true love, and a genie who offers a woman three wishes-with conditions. And that's just the start. That's Really Funny! was forty years in the making as storyteller Joe McHugh traveled the world performing at festivals, libraries, museums, and concert halls, picking up a funny story joke here and another there. The collection is tailored for use for a wide-range of occasions: gift idea, or camping trips, family get-togethers, airplane journeys, a dinner party, before bed, to cheer up a friend, or perhaps just to while away a rainy afternoon. It's the perfect book for anyone looking for an excuse to laugh. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…

“Humor is the great thing—the saving thing after all. The minute it crops up all our hardnesses yield, all our irritations and resentments slip away and a sunny spirit takes their place.” ~ Mark Twain
Forty years in the making, this collection grew out of McHugh’s global travels as a professional storyteller performing at festivals, libraries, museums, and concert halls. Inside the pages, readers will encounter an eccentric single-malt whisky expert, a frustrated preacher, a misbehaving parrot, and an extra-clever poacher outsmarting a game warden. You will meet a London pickpocket who finds true love, a lawyer who buys a mysterious brass figurine in San Francisco’s Chinatown, and a genie who offers a woman three wishes—with an unusual condition. And that is just the beginning.
