Paperback. "Fundamental Problems of Life" is a profound philosophical examination of the core questions surrounding human existence, ethics, and social organization. In this comprehensive work, John Stuart Mackenzie explores the underlying principles that govern the pursuit of a meaningful life and the development of a just society. The text investigates the nature of values, the relationship between the individual and the community, and the moral foundations necessary for human progress. By addressing the complexities of social and personal conduct, Mackenzie seeks to synthesize a coherent worldview that balances the spiritual and material aspects of life. This treatise reflects the author's deep engagement with the tradition of British idealism, providing a rigorous yet accessible inquiry into the dilemmas of the modern age. It remains a significant work for those interested in the intersections of moral philosophy and social theory, offering enduring insights into the responsibilities and aspirations that define the human experience. "Fundamental Problems of Life" serves as a vital resource for understanding the ethical frameworks that continue to influence contemporary thought and social policy. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
