Sinopsis:

Many women who are subjected to abuse from their partners or children do not understand what is happening to them. The do not need therapy but they do need the information they are given when they attend the Freedom Programme. This is a rolling group work course which informs and empowers women in this situation. It can also help to identify warning signs in a new relationship. It also explains how children are affected by domestic abuse and how their lives can improve after the abuser is removed. also It must be used in conjunction with Pat Craven’s book ‘Living with the Dominator’. Acerca del autor: Pat Craven is a qualified social worker and probation officer. In 1999 she created the Freedom Programme for survivors of domestic abuse to women. In 2008 she published ‘Living with the Dominator’ a book about male violence to women. In 2011 she wrote the companion book, ‘The Freedom Programme Home Study Course’ for women who could not access the Freedom Programme. The book ‘Freedom’s Flowers’ was inspired by the session of the Freedom Programme which focuses on the effects of domestic abuse on children.
