Fred Finds a Friend is a heartwarming story inspired by the true story of Fred, a scruffy black-and-white country kitty who appeared outside our new home.

Fred was cautious and unsure of people, always watching from a safe distance. Instead of trying to rush him, we offered him food, fresh water, patience, and kindness. Little by little, Fred began coming closer and learning that he was safe.

Over the years, the frightened little stray who once watched us from the grass became part of our family. Today, Fred sleeps on our porch, keeps watch over our country home, and reminds us that trust takes time, love is patient, and even the smallest act of kindness can change a life.

Filled with gentle lessons about compassion, patience, faith, and caring for animals, Fred Finds a Friend shows children that sometimes the best friendships begin with simply being kind.
