It is early summer in the small western Pennsylvania town of Smith Falls. Surrounded by picturesque farmlands, rolling hills and lush green forest lots, it appears as a cover photo from a calendar or travel magazine. In many ways Smith Falls is like so many other small towns in this part of America. Touched by rural beauty and yet not far from a large city, and the fading shadows of a once great steel industry. But for Smith Falls this is all about to change. Something that has quietly waited has begun to stir, and when it raises its head unspeakable horror, born of evil, will seep into this place. For this quaint small town and one dedicated County Sheriff an emotional dam is about to burst, and what lies behind it is a deep dark red.

This is the first book by C. William Davis III in the Clive Aliston Mystery Series. Also by C. William Davis III: "Tail of the Scorpion" and "The Ticket Master: Return of the Forever Man."
