Paperback. Sometimes, the only way forward is back home. After the loss of her business in New York City, Nina Jackson has begrudgingly found herself back in her hometown of Harborview, Massachusetts. Nina knew it was inevitable that coming home would bring the ghosts of her past knocking on the door of her childhood home. The secrets she has kept hidden for over a decade threaten to be her absolute undoing, especially when she learns that her estranged best friend and former neighbor (and love of her life) is also returning. Have the stars aligned to bring them back together for a reason? Or is Nina's heart going to continue beating with the cavernous hole that she has suffered with all this time?If it had been up to him, Brett Warner would have stayed in Texas forever, but he was summoned back to the Cape by his mother, Laura. Brett's brother, Seamus, has been struggling with PTSD after his years in the Army, and Laura is desperate for any support she can get. Though the brotherly bond is nonexistent, Brett is coming back to attempt to be there for the family he left behind over a decade ago. When Brett learns that Nina Jackson is also back, he can't help but feel like it's the work of fate that the two of them have found themselves back in Harborview at the same time. What they did the summer following their senior year of high school has been a shadow that has followed them for over twelve years, and it seems like their paths are crossing again for a reason. Brett can't help but wonder, is this their chance to look their past in the eye and fix what was broken between them? Nina once believed that Brett was her other half. Since they were five years old, it had always seemed that there wasn't a reality where they could ever be apart-until being apart became their only truth. The secrets the two of them have harbored caused a rift that nearly ruined both of them. And if that wasn't enough, Nina was ripped apart by the loss of Brett, and she is finding it hard to pinpoint who is to blame for the complete loss of their connection. Will they be able to break down the wall between them-the wall they had built to hide from what they had done?Follow Nina and Brett through their childhood in the '90s, their adolescence at the turn of the century, and their time in between when they were without each other. Join them now as they face their past and attempt to mend the parts of themselves that were once shattered. And the osprey? Well, that's a secret you will have to read to find out. If it had been up to him, Brett Warner would have stayed in Texas forever, but he was summoned back to the Cape by his mother, Laura. Brett's brother, Seamus, has been struggling with PTSD after his years in the Army, and Laura is desperate for any support she can get. Although the brotherly bond is nonexistent, Brett is returning in an attempt to be there for the family he left behind over a decade ago. When Brett learns that Nina Jackson is also back, he can’t help but feel like it’s the work of fate that the two of them have found themselves back in Harborview at the same time. What they did the summer following their senior year of high school has been a shadow that has followed them for over twelve years, and it seems like their paths are crossing again for a reason. Brett can’t help but wonder, is this their chance to look their past in the eye and fix what was broken between them?
Nina once believed that Brett was her other half. Since they were five years old, it had always seemed that there wasn’t a reality where they could ever be apart—until being apart became their only truth. The secrets the two of them have harbored caused a rift that nearly ruined both of them. Nina was ripped apart by the loss of Brett, and she is finding it hard to pinpoint who is to blame for the complete loss of their connection. Will they be able to break down the wall between them—the wall they had built to hide from all they had done?
Follow Nina and Brett through their childhood in the ’90s, their adolescence at the turn of the century, and their time in between when they were without each other. Join them now as they face their past and attempt to mend the parts of themselves that were once shattered. And the osprey? Well, that’s a secret you will have to read to find out.
