Hardcover. In the poetic world, one's rearview mirror is a place in the subconscious where we relive and recreate our past. The author has recreated his past and presented it in a poetic form to allow the readers to tap into his experiences and to prepare themselves for these kinds of encounters in the future. The book is divided into three sections, Love, Life, and War. It will take you on a journey to a better understanding of the world we live in and it could take you on a flash moment of self-discovery.LOVETakes you on a journey from adolescence, to identifying true love, to being careful about falling into blind love, and finally into losing a lifelong love. LIFEThis section defines the many essentials in life that one needs to understand for surviving and living in harmony within this simple yet at times self-created complex world. WARMany people write about war yet very few experience it. This section gives the reader an up close and personal view from one who has experienced a war, The Vietnam War, first hand. The writer has presented poems from the preparation for war, to surviving the war, to living with the effects of war. "Flashes From My Rearview Mirror" differs from other contemporary poetry collections by incorporating a broad scope, ranging from personal love experiences to reflections on social issues and to war.
