As new condition black boards with red spine lettering contained in a fine condition color illustrated dust jacket. Includes Dedication; Introduction; Afterword; Epilogue: The Wild West; Notes; Acknowledgments; About the Authors; and Index. "The first thing you think is, where's the edge? Where can I make a bit more money? You want every little bit of money that you can possibly get because, like I say, that is how you are judged: that is your performance metric." - Tom Hayes, convicted former trader for UBS and Citigroup. "The Fix, by award-winning Bloomberg journalists Liam Vaughan and Gavin Finch, is the inside story of the Libor scandal told through the journey of the man at the center of it - Tom Hayes, a young, scruffy, socially awkward misfit from England whose genius for math and obsessive personality made him a trading phenomenon but ultimately paved the way for his own downfall. In the midst of the financial crisis, Hayes and his network of traders and brokers from Wall Street's leading firms engineered the biggest financial conspiracy ever seen. As the rest of the world burned, they came together on secret chat rooms and late-night phone calls to hatch an audacious plan to rig Libor. Without the persistence of a rag-tag team of investigators from the U.S., they would have gotten away with it .Based on hundreds of interviews opening up unprecedented access to the traders and brokers involved in the scandal, the regulators and central bankers who failed to stop it and the investigators who caught up with them, The Fix provides a rare look into the dark heart of global finance at the start of the 21st century." - from the inner front and rear jacket flaps.…

Descripción de la tienda
Vero Beach Books is an antiquarian bookseller with a constantly updated inventory of rare out-of-print books, signed books, children's books, plus a large inventory of ephemeral items such as major U.S. city newspapers going back 100 years and more, golden and silver age fine condition comic books (soon to be added), and many other ephemeral items as well as much more recent popular volumes. We have been in business for 25 years, originally known as Emerson Books (named after one of our owner's favorite authors, to wit, Ralph Waldo Emerson) located back then in Westport, Connecticut. That said, we are here to serve you, to offer you fine quality items that are conservatively described so that you will always be pleasantly surprised and delighted with your purchase. Twenty-five years in the bookselling business has borne out our stellar service oriented reputation; the only difference is that now we are located in the almost always sunny and warm climate of Vero Beach, Florida. Again, we are here to serve you and, as was the case when we were previously known on ABEBooks.com as Emerson Books, we will continue to offer our very popular 100% free search service for those hard to find books rare and out of print books. Oftentimes we are also able to obtain these rare finds at very good discounts to our customers' so it is always worth contacting us in such cases!
