With these words, Dr. Dieter Schirmann, an engineer at Henschel & Sohn, introduces the heavy German Tiger I to astonished tankmen in the summer of 1942. The war against the Soviet Union has been going on for almost a year now, and the Russian T-34 tanks have shocked the German armed forces.
The new "Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger 1" is supposed to turn the tide. Due to the precarious situation on the Eastern front, the High Command of the Wehrmacht ordered that proper testing shall be skipped and the Tigers sent straight to the front.
The order goes to Major Ulrich Mahler, a celebrated war hero and tank officer who is up to every trick. He is assigned four Tiger tanks with which he is to cause a sensation on the Eastern Front in the summer of 1942. But no sooner has Mahler arrived in the area of operations near the Leningrad Front than he discovers that the commander on-site knows nothing about tank warfare.
As a result, the Tiger I's first combat mission threatens to end in disaster. Mahler knows what is at stake. And so, in dire straits, he makes a bold decision...

Efectos del desistimiento
