There’s a wedding at the Country Cottage Inn! Get ready for something borrowed, something blue, something dead, and someone getting sued.

These talking pets solve crimes! A cozy inn, a lending library, and a corpse. Living in Cider Cove can be deadly.

I’m Bizzy Baker Wilder, and let me tell you—nothing says disaster waiting to happen quite like hosting a last-minute beach wedding at my Country Cottage Inn when the original venue mysteriously fell through just one week before the big day.

So here I am, scrambling to pull together the social event of the summer for my husband Jasper’s old college buddy—a groom who’s shadier than my beach umbrella. The bride? She’s a social media princess who treats every moment like a photo opportunity and thinks hashtags count as wedding vows. The best man? A serial womanizer who apparently considers bridesmaids fair game. And somehow both Jasper and Leo got roped into this circus as groomsmen, which means I get front-row seats to all the drama.

The steel drums are playing, the frozen cocktails are flowing, and everything is going surprisingly well until the wedding planner decides to take a permanent vacation from life. One minute she’s barking orders about flower arrangements, the next she’s deader than my motivation to plan another last-minute wedding.

And if that wasn’t enough, my sister Macy, Jasper’s ex Camila, and Georgie decide to form what they’re calling the Bridal Rescue Squad to save the day. Because apparently what a murder investigation really needs is three women with zero wedding planning experience and way too much enthusiasm trying to coordinate everything from the reception to the honeymoon suite.

Let’s just say their rescue attempts turn into disasters faster than you can say “something borrowed, something blue, something dead, and someone’s getting sued.”

Have I mentioned that I can read minds? Yeah, there’s that too. With my supernatural quirk I can hear both people and animals, and trust me, the animals have way better things to say. I’m picking up thoughts that range from murderous to mortifying, my detective husband trying to solve a case while wearing a rented tuxedo, and my pets Fish and Sherlock Bones are providing commentary on everyone’s snack menu. It’s clear I’ve got my hands full trying to catch a killer before they strike again.

Between dodging the Bridal Rescue Squad’s latest catastrophe, figuring out which member of this dysfunctional wedding party is a cold-blooded killer, and keeping the bride from live-streaming the entire investigation, I’m starting to think maybe I should have let them find another venue.

But in Cider Cove, when someone gets murdered at your inn, you don’t just serve cocktails and hope for the best. You roll up your sleeves, read some minds, and catch yourself a killer—even if it puts your life in the balance.

An innkeeper who reads minds. An ornery detective. And a trail of bodies. Cider Cove is the premier destination for murder.

My name is Bizzy Baker, and I can read minds—not every mind, not every time but most of the time and believe me when I say it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
