This book was written to help prepare pre-service English teachers for the Florida Teacher Certification Exam for English 6-12. This textbook was developed for my university students over a course of several years and has proven invaluable for preparation (and passing) the secondary level English teacher certification exam. JANE THIELEMANN-DOWNS is a Professor of Education in the College of Public Service at the University of Houston-Downtown where she teaches courses in Reading, Language Arts, and Educational Psychology.
