Discover the enchanting world of modern fairy belief in Scotland through the voices of 25 individuals, whose stories have been meticulously gathered since the summer of 1991. Inspired by Dr. W.Y. Evan-Wentz's seminal 1911 Oxford thesis, "The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries," this book breathes new life into a largely forgotten subject.

Despite the brilliance of Evan-Wentz's scholarship, his work faded into obscurity, overshadowed by his acclaimed translation of "The Tibetan Book of the Dead." The topic of fairies, deemed ethnographically dubious by Western academia, received little attention.

For over two decades, this project has passionately pursued the collection of folklore, aiming to revive interest in the fairy faith of Scotland and delve into the mysteries of pre-Christian European culture. This book is a testament to the enduring allure of fairy tales and the rich tapestry of human belief.
