Sara Carvalho is a composer and a lecturer at the University of Aveiro in Portugal. She's interested in the interaction between different Performing Arts, and all aspects associated with gesture, musical narrative and performer-composer collaboration. Her catalogue has over 50 works that are regularly performed, including commissions by ensembles of international merit, and prestigious institutions. Several of her pieces are available on CD. In 2012 her monographic CD "7 pomegranate seeds" was published. Many of her scores are published by the Portuguese Music Information Centre MIC.PT. Her research work is presented at international conferences, and it's published in different journals and book chapters.
PhD student in Child Studies, specialty Artistic Education-Music Education, at the Institute of Education of the University of Minho (Portugal). Graduated in Artistic Education area: Music, and Master in Music PPGMUS Program, at the State University of Santa Catarina UDESC (Brazil). Experience as a music educator with children in early childhood education institutions, music schools and teaching centers. She taught training courses for teachers and was a virtual tutor at the Federal University of São Carlos-SP (UAB/MEC) in the Music Education course (Production of Didactic Material for Music Education). Main areas of interest: early childhood music education, musical creativity and teacher training. She has scientific articles published in journals and conferences and collaborations in books.
Master s and Doctoral Degrees in Music from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Professor in the Undergraduate Degree Program and the Graduate Program in Music at Santa Catarina State University (UDESC), Brazil. Researcher with a productivity grant from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development-CNPq. Current Director of Research and Graduate Studies at the Center of Arts, Design and Fashion, UDESC. Leader of the Study and Research Group Inventa Educação Musical. Pursued her Post-Doctoral studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), Germany. Her professional experience includes working as a music teacher in an elementary school. Composer and sound artist of classical formation and several influences, with works framed near the turning point between traditional concert situations and other disciplines like installation, performance of videoart. His work is, above all, a search and deconstruction of borders: between the aesthetic and sociopolitical realms, or between the different conventional perceptual fields (sound, image, word, quotidian perception).
M.A. in Music Education and Ph.D. in Education from the University of Granada, with a Doctor Europeus mention, Cremades-Andreu is Associate Professor of music education and Vice-Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies in the Faculty of Education at the Complutense University of Madrid. His main research interests are music education, teacher training, and musical preferences. In this lines of research, he has presented his work at national and international conferences, as well as in prestigious journals in his field of study.
