Paperback. "An Experimental Investigation of Recovery From Work" is a pioneering study in the field of experimental psychology and industrial efficiency. Conducted during a period of intense interest in the limits of human labor and productivity, this work explores the physiological and psychological mechanisms underlying fatigue and the subsequent recovery processes necessary for sustained performance.S.L. Crawley details a series of controlled experiments designed to measure how the human body and mind respond to sustained exertion and the specific intervals required for optimal recuperation. The text provides a rigorous analysis of data collected from laboratory settings, offering insights into the relationship between work output and rest periods. By examining the factors that influence the rate of recovery, Crawley contributes to the foundational understanding of occupational health and human performance. This volume serves as a significant historical document for those interested in the evolution of organizational psychology and the scientific study of labor.
