This 11 plus English book provides practice for comprehensions based on non-fiction literature. English comprehension tests have long been a staple of 11 plus and Common Entrance exams. This collection of 10 tests, each containing 15 questions, is representative of the standard comprehension section of contemporary multi-discipline 11 plus and Common Entrance exams. Each test contains a variety of questions styles that test a child's ability to extract factual information and draw inferences from the text, as well as their knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and literary techniques. This book contains 10 extracts from non-fiction texts. For further practice on comprehensions, see 11+ Essentials English Comprehensions: Classic Fiction and Contemporary Fiction books.
