Relationship completion is often overlooked in patient care plans, and there is a lack of academic literature on how health care practitioners may help facilitate this work. This book sheds light on this area and presents a review of relevant literature alongside four case studies of dying persons and their significant relations, as they engaged in music therapy sessions. Through the use of narrative research methods the author illuminates the complexity held within the multiple data sources that informed each case study. The knowledge that emerged from each case informed a cross-case analysis where global themes were identified and process motifs arising from the progression of participant engagement in music therapy are described.
