ENFORCING ETHICS: A SCENARIO-BASED WORKBOOK FOR POLICE & CORRECTIONS RECRUITS AND OFFICERS, 4/e uses 85 “ethical encounter” case study exercises to promote equitable, effective, and ethical behavior among law enforcement. Its fundamental purpose is to encourage skilled police/corrections recruits and officers to think critically and carefully about their actions, their decisions, and their values. It teaches through the coherent “Ethics” framework, showing how officer behavior is shaped by Environment, Training, Home life; Individual beliefs; Citizens; and Stress. This edition adds ten new ethical scenarios designed to promote dialogue and critical thinking about drug-related matters, financial concerns, traffic offenses, socializing, and other key issues. It also contains an entirely new chapter on high-profile cases and their lessons; and significantly more coverage of the consequences of unethical behavior.
