Descripción del artículo del vendedor

In many ways a special book in terms of its subject matter, the conceptual approach (Part First includes Saints with their Emblems, Part Second Emblems with their Saints), and format: elegant green cloth with gilt titles and publisher's logo featuring on the upper board externally, carefully conceived typography with much of the text contained with red page frames internally (see images). As well as the Emblems sections, there are also interesting chapters on saintly patrons of the following: Arts, Trades and Professions, Countries and Cities; plus monthly Calendar pages (inc. Roman, Sarum, Scottish and Old English). Condition (external): very sound with titles and logo still striking; set against the deep green cloth background. TEG. Slight bending of corners with slight fading/rubbing. Tight binding. Condition (internal): sound overall but with mild to moderate tanning throughout; with occasional spotting - the latter being slightly more apparent on the book?s preliminary and final pages. pp. xiii, 425 - followed by several pages of saintly arms (see example images). 8vo (crown octavo). This is the third edition; edited by Augustus Jessopp, D.D., Late Head Master of Norwich School. It is ex libris (W. W. Williamson) - see image of tipped-in sticker on front pastedown. Please note that, depending on destination, we may request a payment to cover any extra shipping & postage charges. Proceeds to Amnesty International. Abe2617.…
