Paperback. They thought closing the sky would save the world. It only woke what was sleeping beneath it. The Hollow are gone. The wound in the sky is sealed. For ninety-one days, the kingdom of the Ashcrown has called Kestrel Dunmore a hero - the cinder-born girl who hears the monsters, who closed the burning sky and ended the Emberfalls forever. But Kesh knows a secret the grateful crowds don't: the sky has gone quiet, and now the ground has begun to sing. Something vast and ancient and unbearably lonely is waking far beneath the world, calling her name in the dark - and one by one, it has begun to call the children too. To save them, Kesh and Corin Thorne must descend into the heart of the world and face a truth that changes everything they thought they'd won: the sky was only ever the smaller wound. What waits below is not the enemy. It's the only thing that has ever stood between their world and the true horror on the far side of the stars - and it is dying. Down in the gold-lit dark, an old ghost is waiting for them. And the choice that ends the reckoning will cost one of them everything. Second chances. A descent into the dark. A love tested against the end of the world. And a secret about where the hearers came from that will change the Ashcrown forever. Emberfall is Book Two of the Ashcrown Cycle - the swoony, high-stakes continuation of the romantasy that began with Emberwake. Read Book One first. Then come down into the dark. For readers of Fourth Wing and A Court of Thorns and Roses. The Cycle concludes in Book Three: Emberthrone. This item is printed on demand. The Hollow are gone. The wound in the sky is sealed. For ninety-one days, the kingdom of the Ashcrown has called Kestrel Dunmore a hero — the cinder-born girl who hears the monsters, who closed the burning sky and ended the Emberfalls forever.
But Kesh knows a secret the grateful crowds don't: the sky has gone quiet, and now the ground has begun to sing. Something vast and ancient and unbearably lonely is waking far beneath the world, calling her name in the dark — and one by one, it has begun to call the children too.
To save them, Kesh and Corin Thorne must descend into the heart of the world and face a truth that changes everything they thought they'd won: the sky was only ever the smaller wound. What waits below is not the enemy. It's the only thing that has ever stood between their world and the true horror on the far side of the stars — and it is dying. Down in the gold-lit dark, an old ghost is waiting for them. And the choice that ends the reckoning will cost one of them everything.
Second chances. A descent into the dark. A love tested against the end of the world. And a secret about where the hearers came from that will change the Ashcrown forever.
Emberfall is Book Two of the Ashcrown Cycle — the swoony, high-stakes continuation of the romantasy that began with Emberwake. Read Book One first. Then come down into the dark.
For readers of Fourth Wing and A Court of Thorns and Roses. The Cycle concludes in Book Three: Emberthrone.
